My first trip to the D

This past weekend my mom and dad took me to Detroit to visit family. It was a busy weekend. I got to see my grandma, my NaNa, some of mom's and dad's friends, my great aunt Betty and some my Nana's co-workers. Everybody kept saying how big I was. I had lots of fun and even made some new friends. I hope we get to go back again soon!

Ages and Stages

I am getting older now, and have learned how to do a lot of things that babies my age should be able to do. I have been holding my head up since I was a couple weeks old.
I can do it much better now. I like when my mommy and daddy play with me, so to show them I like it, I smile. I have discovered my voice and love to talk and coo and make noises to hear how it sounds. I think my mommy likes to hear it too. Now, I am learning how to move around more. I like to kick my feet, especially when mommy is trying to change my diaper and when I am in the tub (splash, splash). I am learning to roll over one way, and use a kicking action to move me from one spot to another. My mom gets a little nervous when she leaves the room for a second and comes back to see I am in a different direction. I think that's funny. Speaking of funny, when I think somethings funny, I let out a little giggle. I am currently working on sitting up. Sometimes I get it, and sometimes I just fall over. I am determined to learn though. Once I master this, I am going back to that crawling thing. I have been trying to get that for the longest. My mom and dad, puts me on my stomach, and I just go to town kicking trying to go forward, but I don't move. Persistance, yup, that's what it will take. I have learned one more thing that other babies my age don't know. That is how to work on a computer. My daddy taught me.

My 4 month checkup

On May 31, 2006, my mommy took me to the doctor's for my 4-month check-up. First they laid me down on this big scale to see how much I gained since my last appt. "19lbs 4 oz," is what the nurse said to my mom. Then they measured me from head to foot, and around me head also. I am 25 in. long and my head circumference (you like my big word) is 43 cm. Then my doctor came in and asked my mommy all these questions about me. After that, he looked in my ears, my eyes, in my mouth, he looked at my back, and other places I can't remember. He said that I was healthy. The doctor left and another nurse came in. I could tell something was going on because my mom was trying to keep me calm and make me laugh so I would not pay attention to the lady. Then it happened. She stuck me with a needle 4 times in my leg. How does that help anything. All it did was make my leg hurt. My mom tried to cheer me up and then she gave me some medicine, but it still hurt. I hope I don't ever have to do that again.

My dedication

On April 23, 2006, my mommy, daddy and several other family members celebrated my dedication. My parents wanted to publicly acknowledge how greatful to God they were that I am here, and in order to show that, they dedicated me back to him. The special occasion took place at New Life Christian Fellowship, and was witnessed by my parents, my Nana and Grandpa Ramses, my Grandma Shelia and Auntie's Vitta and Zeta, my Uncle Jeff, my Godparents Rich and Lydia, and my New Life family.

In Between Time

Well, since mommy is just now helping me to start my blog, I'll give you a snapshot of my life in between time. Going forward I am going to be keeping you posted bi-weekly (with the help of my mom of course), and once a month there is going to be a 'Mom's Corner' where my mommy is going to talk about the life of a new stay at home mom. So we hope you enjoy sharing my life with me.

Love,

Jared

Then and Now

My how the time has passed. I love my mommy and daddy and I know that they love me too. We play together and talk together and do exercises together. Its the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. I used to be a little apprehensive, but now I know that I everything will be alright. When I need my mom, she's there. Daddy teaches me really cool things. Mommy and daddy say that I am moving too fast. When I heard that I have gained a whole 3 month old baby (12lbs) in 4 months, I agreed. I am 4 months old and weigh 19lbs 4oz. Healthy! Big Boy!! My mommy's milk is nutritious and delicious.

I am 3 days old in the first picture and 3 months old in the other!

And I'm still growing!

My New Family

Like home...

I was comfortable in my mommies belly kicking and moving around when all of a sudden water started to drip out of the sac I was in. I didn't know what was going on. I could tell that my mom was a little anxious, and I could hear excitment in my dad's voice as well. Next thing I know, I was being pulled out by my behind. Nobody asked me if I wanted to leave. There was a bright light and I was freezing cold, then I heard a familiar voice. "Hey Jared..." I opened my eyes. Is that my daddy? Then other people whose voices I didn't recognize was doing all kinds of things to me. They took me over to this lady with this thing on her head, and I asked her, "what is going on here?" I don't think she understood me because all she did was smile and say "Hi Little Man!" That voice was very familiar also. It made me very comfortable. Could that be my mommy? I wanted to stay, but they took me away. "Will somebody tell me what's going on", I screamed, but everybody just smiled and talked in a funny language. I thought these people are crazy. I've got to get back to the familiar voices. Poke here, prod there. Leave me alone, I'm so tired! Finally, I was there; I heard the familiar voices and it felt like home!

Welcome

Welcome to my Blog! I got this idea to create a blog from my friends Denver and Jackson. I thought it was a cool way to keep my family updated on how I am growing up. Enjoy!
